AddressBook Printer DirectionsGoal:
When you follow the directions below you will be able to print out a small Address Book with addresses from the Apple AddressBook application. This version supports printing a booklet that is one of 4 layouts from 1/8 a piece of paper to full size.
Start: Start the program. Select Page Setup from the File menu and for best results on a standard letter sized piece of paper (US Letter - 8.5" x 11" in the U.S, A4 elsewhere). The program will automatically set the printer to portrait or landscape more depending on which format you chose.
Step 1: Either select a group or group of addresses from the Group pane or select a series of addresses from the Name pane. Select one of the 4 layouts. The layouts will make a booklet the size of one sheet or paper, a half sheet of paper, a quarter sheet of paper or an eighth of a sheet of paper.
Step 2: Click on the Fields tab and choose which fields from the Address Book to print. Note that the name is always printed.
Step 3: Click on the Format tab and change the margins to use for the page if desired. The margins are specified in points. There are 72 points per inch or 28 per centimeter. Also select a font face and size if desired. Note that if you go back to step 1, the font size will reset. The default font is the System font.
Step 4: Click on the Print tab and then click "Print Front"
You should get a number of sheets of paper with one side of the address book
Step 5: To print the other side of the address book sheets, return the sheets of paper to the printer sheet feeder so that they will print on the other side. The sheets should print in the same order as they printed the first side. In many printers this is a simple as taking the entire stake of sheets, flipping it over and placing it in the paper source tray.
Step 6: From the AddressBook Printer application, press the "Print Back" button.
Step 7: Cut the sheets and line them up in order so that the upper right hand corners contain the odd page numbers.
Step 8: Fold and staple as needed
