A sort of musical centered version of Oliver Twist, August Rush deals with a young couple of talented musicians (Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Keri Russell) who meet on a magical night and have a child. Neither parent is aware of the boy’s name or even his existence. The young boy sees and hears music in a very real way that only happens in the movies or perhaps in child prodigies. The music itself would be a good reason to see this movie.

Who will like this movie? You have to be willing to suspend disbelief as is more of a romantic fantasy than a romantic comedy. It is more of a “chick flick” than anything else. If you go, bring a sense of wonder.
