When I showed my co-workers the video from CES of Bill Gates last day one of them was reminded of a similar short video from Bill Clinton’s last days in office.
Freddie Highmore continues to show that he is a young actor worth watching in the recent movie August Rush. A sort of musical centered version of Oliver Twist, August Rush deals with a young couple of talented musicians (Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Keri Russell) who meet on a magical night and have a child. Neither parent is aware of the boy’s name or even his existence. The young boy sees and hears music in a very real way that only happens in the movies or perhaps in child prodigies. The music itself would be a good reason to see this movie.

My son Mike the film student told me about this brilliant film which is an homage to both Shakespeare in Love and George Lucas. Where did Lucas get all of those ideas for Star Wars? This film has the answers. The film got the director a 3 film deal with a major studio.

A friend in Argentina sent me this video of a young man in Hong Kong giving out free hugs. Maybe this world is not so far apart after all.
