Cryptonomicon

A novel about code breaking should have an obscure name like Cryptonomicon. The novel skips back and forth between adventures and misadventures of code breakers in WWII and their decedents today. The WWII section has some fantastic yarns about and the lengths they will go to make the enemy believe that their codes have not been broken. The modern story shows the characters creating a business based around encryption until they get drawn into deeper and older conspiracies.
